Britney Spears Brings Back 'Glory' With Sexy New Song 'Mood Ring’

Serving justice for her 2016 album

May 29, 2020

It’s Britney… well you know the rest.

It’s been 4 years since we’ve heard any new music from Britney Spears. So this was quite the surprise to wake up to. The pop banger "Mood Ring,” a bonus track originally featured on her Japan release of 2016 album Glory, is officially available to fans in the US and all around the world.

The pop princess dropped the news on Instagram to her 24.4 million followers. “Repurposed this since we didn’t use it... You folks wanted a new album cover ….. ta da there you go, I hope you turn #MoodRing up sooooooo loud.”

Even though “Mood Ring” is new to us, all signs point to Britney backing away from the music spotlight. In March, Spears’s 13-year-old son Jayden Federline was seen on Instagram Live telling fans he hadn’t seen is mother “doing a lot of music at all,” adding, "I remember one time I asked her, 'Mom, what happened to your music? And she was like 'I dunno honey, I think I might just quit it.' And I was like, 'What? What are you saying? You know how much bank you make off that stuff?’”

I mean the little man isn’t wrong.

Additionally her sister Jamie Lynn Spears recently revealed to the Hollywood Reporter that Brit Brit has no plans of heading back to the studio just yet. "She's kind of just relaxing. And I think that's good. Britney deserves that. She's worked her ass off. So if she wants to make another album, great. But if she doesn't feel like it, she doesn't have to. She's given the world a lot. I don't think there are plans for anything — at the moment.” We don’t disagree, but we will choose to have selective hearing and focus on the “if she wants to make another album, great” part.

For now, we’ll just have to let “Mood Ring” hold us over. If you haven’t already, listen to the bop below.
