OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder may sing some of your favorite pop rock songs but that’s not all this super talented musician can do. He’s also had his hand in writing some of the biggest pop songs in the past decade for some of your favorite artists.

Here’s a list of nine songs you had no idea were written by one of music’s biggest jack-of-all-trades:

Bleeding Love – Leona Lewis

Leona Lewis’ breakout hit took the world by storm becoming 2008’s best selling single worldwide. What you probably don’t know is that the song was originally co-written by Tedder and Jesse McCartney for McCartney’s third album, Departure. However, McCartney’s record label didn’t like the song and tossed it aside. Tedder, knowing the song had immense potential, rearranged the song for Leona Lewis after hearing her sing on the U.K.’s X Factor. Lucky for Leona as it made her career.

Halo & XO – Beyoncé

One of Beyoncé’s new classics, ‘Halo’ was written by Tedder, Evan Bogart, and Beyoncé herself. This pop power ballad became a huge hit for Beyoncé winning over critics and fans alike for its dreamy melodies and heavenly lyrics.

Not content with one Tedder smash-hit, Beyoncé turned to the OneRepublic frontman again for her self-title sneak-hit album, Beyoncé. Along with The Dream, Tedder and Beyoncé went back to the drawing board to craft another pop love song, hoping to make an even bigger hit than ‘Halo.’

Already Gone – Kelly Clarkson

Co-written by Kelly herself along with Ryan Tedder, ‘Already Gone’ was released in 2009 to universal acclaim. Bolstered by the Idol’s powerful vocals the song quickly became a huge hit for Clarkson even though she tried to block its release. After drawing criticisms of being a rip-off of Beyoncé’s ‘Halo,’ another Tedder production, Clarkson tried to stop the song being included on her album, All I Ever Wanted. Knowing how good the song was regardless of its similarities, her label said no way and went ahead releasing it as the third single from that album.

Rumour Has It – Adele

British songstress Adele sought out Tedder’s help for her second album 21. Together they co-wrote ‘Rumour Has It’ an incredibly catchy song that actually isn’t about the media spreading lies about the singer. Adele claims the song was actually written about her friends who believe these lies.

Neon Lights – Demi Lovato

One of Lovato’s latest hits, ‘Neon Lights’ is a fun dance record given fresh life by the singer’s incredible vocals. Tedder has since gone on to say that Lovato just might have one of the most powerful vocal ranges in the industry.

Burn – Ellie Goulding

Although it was released last summer, ‘Burn’ is still burning up the radio airwaves due in no small part to Goulding’s ethereal vocals paired with Tedder’s knack for hit songwriting.

Love Somebody & Maps – Maroon 5

Moving away from their funkier rock origins, Maroon 5 have drifted more towards a pop/dance rock feel and one wonders if perhaps Tedder’s hand in crafting two of their more recent hits, ‘Love Somebody’ and ‘Maps,’ had something to with the bands switch in sound. Either way, fans don’t seem to mind as the band has only gotten bigger and bigger.

Let us know which of Tedder’s collaborations are your favorites in the comments section below!
