Stores have been putting out Christmas decorations earlier and earlier every year. Before long, you will be able to buy tinsel and fake snow in July. It’s a bit of a shock though every year when I see christmas lights right next to the Halloween decorations.
Enter the Murray Family, vloggers from N.C. who are saying, or singing what many of us are thinking with their latest parody song, “Christmastime.”
Set to the OneRepublic hit, “Apologize,” they jokingly ask that we wait until after Thanksgiving to start with Christmas tree displays, peppermint mochas and holiday apparel.
The Murrays told Today:
“Although we don’t want to get caught up and rush through Thanksgiving… it’s hard to do that in our culture today. We try in our family to find ways to make the entire season — November through New Year’s — about thankfulness and giving… Teaching our kids to focus on others in small ways and not on themselves is so important.”
