Cyndi Lauper Bashes U.S. Senators for Not Passing LGBT Homeless Youth Act

By Ezra Marcus

Cyndi Lauper has released a statement through her political advocacy group True Colors Fund expressing frustration with the United States Senate.

Why? Billboard reports that the True Colors Fund was advocating the Senate to pass the Runaway and Homeless Youth and Trafficking Prevention Act (S.A. 290), which, according to the press release, “includes a non-discrimination clause that would help ensure lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) youth experiencing homelessness not only have access to critical services, but that those services are safe, welcoming, and tailored to meet their unique needs.”

The bill failed to reach the 60 votes it needed.
