NYC Restaurant Week: A Good Excuse For People On A Budget To Eat Great Food

As a recent transplant here in New York City, I feel like I have discovered one of the greatest ways to try some of the thousands of restaurants in the city.

Restaurant Week began yesterday, February 17th, and runs until March 7th. Nearly 300 restaurants in the city (including Park Slope) have set menus for lunch, dinner, or both. Lunch menus are set at $25 and dinners are roughly $38.

I am so excited for these weeks solely devoted to celebrating food. I am in love with all types of food and I need a good excuse to actually go to restaurants instead of getting $1 pizza and eating in my bed.

There are some rather expensive restaurants (well by expensive, I mean out of my I-eat-ramen-every-day budget) on the list as well, including Morton’s Steakhouse -World Trade Center, Andanada located on the Upper West Side, Chez Josephine on Theater Row and En Japanese Brasserie in the West Village.

I’m not the only one excited about the best week of all time either.

I know it’s cold outside and bed sounds like a good place to be right now, but take some time to enjoy lunch with a friend or that “friend” that it’s safe to hang out with since it’s after Valentine’s Day. We need as many reasons as possible to get out of the apartment, so go enjoy lunch or dinner at some of the restaurants you wouldn’t normally try.

Keep Up With The Food:

Follow Restaurant Week on Facebook and Twitter and be sure to post your photos using #NYCRestaurantWeek & #NYCRW.

P.S. there are a couple of contests for using that hashtag too.
