During her show in Nashville, Tenn., Beyonce paid tribute to fallen teen, Trayvon Martin.

Beyonce hit the stage just thirty minutes after the “not guilty” verdict was passed down in the controversial George Zimmerman trial.

“I’d like to have a moment of silence for Trayvon,” Beyonce said. She then followed up the moment of silence with a medley of “I Will Always Love You” and “Halo.”

Following the verdict, protests were held around the country, including here in New York City.

This is not the first time Queen B has honored those young people who have made an influence on society. She also paid tribute to Pakistani teen, Malala Yousafzai, who was shot by the Taliban for promoting education for women in the Middle East. Malala turned 16 in October 2012, when Beyonce posted her sweet tribute on Facebook.
