Indie rock sweethearts Matt and Kim may have broken into the mainstream with infectious dance-pop hits like “Let’s Go,” from their most recent album, Lightning, but to fully experience the boundless energy of the duo is to catch them in concert.
Onstage, Kim Schifino enthusiastically bashes at her drum kit while boyfriend Matt Johnson rocks out on keyboards and lead vocals, with the pair engaging the audience (and each other) with nonstop banter between the upbeat dance tunes.
The crowd is always a big part of any Matt & Kim show, like a concert in Troy, NY, this past year, when the duo utilized a packed auditorium to film one of the biggest (and best) of the countless “Harlem Shake” viral videos that overran the internet earlier this year.
See Matt and Kim in all of their party-starting glory this Friday, June 7, when the band performs live from the Red Bull Sound Space at KROQ. The show will be webcast as it happens, starting at 1pm PT/4pm ET.
Watching the dynamic duo bouncing around the Red Bull Sound Stage will surely whet your appetite to experience Matt & Kim in concert live, and they have plenty of North American tour dates this summer to accommodate their legions of faithful fans. They’ll be on hand at upcoming massive music festivals like Bonnaroo (June 15), Lollapalooza (August 3) and Outside Lands (August 9).
