Paul McCartney already announced 12-dates on his stadium tour across the United States and now he’ll be making another stop. The former Beatle will play back-to-back shows in Brooklyn at the Barclays Center on June 8 and 10.
Of course, McCartney didn’t make some low key announcement via the Internet that he was coming back to New York for the first time since taking the stage at the 12-12-12 benefit concert. Though the strange 14-second announcement video he released is anything but low key. Watch below.
No, instead he had Brooklyn’s Borough President Marty Markowitz, joined by two Buckingham Palace style guards and an English phone booth, make the announcement at a mock press conference outside of the Barclays Center. Markowitz even announced that part of Atlantic Avenue, the street that runs alongside the stadium, will be renamed “Abbey Road” through June.
