Deb Gordon’s guest was Lieutenant Colonel Angela Billings, who is a career public affairs officer with the United States Air Force and is the Director of the Air Force’s National Media Outreach Office in New York, which is the lead organization that coordinated New York Air Force Week 2012.

Air Force Week in New York occurs every two years and is designed to increase awareness, understanding, and support for the accomplishments, performance, and sacrifices of the Air Force, while at the same time providing servicemen the chance to meet members of the community and express gratitude for continued support.

Spotlighted the variety of happenings that will take place throughout all five boroughs of the city including; The U.S. Air Force aerial demonstration team the “Thunderbirds”, performing coordinated formation flyover passes over the Hudson River, and during games at Yankee Stadium, Citi Field, and at Coney Island.; An open water rescue demonstration from New York’s 106th Rescue Wing on Long Island; musical performances at various venues throughout the city including Staten Island;, interactive displays at South Street Seaport, and a movie night with appearances from the movies’ stars and a Tuskegee Airman.
