WIN On Fresh: Kesha & Macklemore | Bon JoviMore »

There have been quite a few changes since Duets first premiered in May. Kelly Clarkson has gone blonde, Jennifer Nettles has a bun in the oven and the show is now live, which means America finally has a say in who stays and who goes.

For the first live show, the top five contestants performed the biggest hits from the last decade ranging from Josh Groban to Lady Antebellum to Beyoncé.

John Glosson led off the night singing Groban’s “When You Say You Love Me,” which was also his audition song for the show. He admitted it was no easy task to turn the classical solo into a duet, though, as Robin Thicke pointed it out, they’re legally a trio since Jennifer’s big announcement last week that’s she’s pregnant. But with precision and passion the two choir kids managed to pull it off.

The remaining two female contestants–Bridget Carrington and Olivia Chisholm—also slowed things down and showed off their vocals on the first live show. Chisholm and partner Robin tackled Lady A’s monster hit “I Need You Now,” staying true to the original. While the judges appreciated her range of song choices from week to week, Kelly thought she sounded a bit pitchy.

Bridget and John Legend used Beyonce’s “Halo” to show of their sultry side and once again their chemistry together. After her performance of Tina Turner’s “What’s Love Got To Do With It” last week, this performance seemed a bit subdued, but she still managed to show off her vocal prowess on the complicated ballad.

Jason Farol, who narrowly escaped elimination last week, brought the fire for his take on Duffy’s 2008 song, “Mercy.” For the ’60s throwback he included a pelvic thrust or two and as Jennifer noted, probably won the hearts of more than a few teenage girls.

And J Rome, well, he again showed why he’s on top with his version of David Guetta and Usher’s single “Without You.” Jennifer also got into the spirit of the club hit, dropping it like it’s hot in four-inch heels no less. After weeks of threatening she’d throw her shoe at him, Kelly finally did, narrowly missing J Rome’s head. In the end though, she made nice, telling the show’s golden boy: “I can’t wait to come to your concert some day!”

Unlike the other singing competition shows, there will be no hour long results show tonight. Instead, fans have to wait a full week to see just who got the lowest number of votes.

So, who was your favorite from last night’s show?
