Deb Gordon’s guest was Izabela Wojcik, Director of House Programming at The James Beard Foundation, whose mission is to celebrate, nurture, and preserve America’s diverse culinary heritage and future.  The Foundation maintains the historic James Beard House in Greenwich Village.

Ms. Wojcik discussed the history of the Foundation and provided facts about its namesake, and his legacy of educating and inspiring generations of chefs and food enthusiasts.  Also discussed the many programs and initiatives that The James Beard Foundation offers, including food conferences, culinary scholarships, and food industry awards.

Spotlighted the Foundation’s 21st annual Chefs & Champagne® happening on July 21st at Wölffer Estate Vineyard in Sagaponack.  Chefs & Champagne® will feature culinary creations from some of the most iconic chefs in the country, and also honor the James Beard Award winning Host and Judges of the TV show Chopped.  The event raises funds for the many programs that The James Beard Foundation provides.
