Movies Opening This Weekend

19th Annual Red Hook Fest
The 19th Annual Red Hook Fest will take place on Saturday. Featuring world-class music, dance, and spoken word poetry as well as over 150 young artists from across Brooklyn, the theme of this year’s Red Hook Fest is “Women’s Work: Healing Our Community.” That’s at the Louis J. Valentino Jr. Park and Pier from 12-7pm!
26th Annual ISI Team Figure Skating Competition
This weekend is the 26th Annual ISI Team Figure Skating Competition! For 26 years, hundreds of amateur figure skaters from around the world have tested their skills in Sky Rink’s ISI Team Competition. The largest ISI competition on the East coast, Sky Rink’s ISI Team Competition is open to competitors of all ages and skating levels. The tournament also hosts special events that are US Figure Skating-friendly. The event is free to the public, so come and cheer on the skaters. That’s at the Sky Rink at Chelsea Piers.
Bon Appetit Grub Crawl of Brooklyn
This weekend is the Bon Appetit Grub Crawl of Brooklyn. Bon Appetit Grub Crawl will take you on a hands-on, interactive food tour at ground zero of the artisanal-food universe. In true Brooklyn form, you’ll experience food and drink up-close, hang with the chefs, get your hands dirty, roll up your sleeves, and peek in the kitchen in the back, as opposed to just being served in the front. And if that’s not enough, on Saturday it culminates in can’t-miss music performances. Saturday it takes place in Williamsburg and on Sunday, it’s in Red Hook.
Bank of America Cardholders Get A Treat!
On Saturday, Bank of America cardholders get free museum admission all weekend at seven spots including the Met, Whitney and New-York Historical Society.

Saturday Is The Great Howl!
It’s the Out Loud Kids Carnival in Tompkins Square Park! Offering carnival games, funhouses for all ages, fairway attractions, arts and crafts activities, Origami, miniature golf, and continuous entertainment on the Kids Stage provided by Rosie’s Theater Kids, Tap City, and Honeybee House among others. Story-telling hour, mask making, face painting, balloon fun, clowns and more, and this year’s expanded Kids Art Around the Park offering limitless opportunities for free expression.
Free “First Saturdays” at the Brooklyn Museum
Saturday, it’s free “First Saturdays” at the Brooklyn Museum from 5 to 11 p.m. At the Brooklyn Museum’s Target First Saturdays, thousands of visitors enjoy free programs of art and entertainment each month from 5 to 11 p.m. All evening long, the Museum Café serves a wide selection of sandwiches, salads, and beverages, and a cash bar offers wine and beer.
Justin Bieber tickets go on sale for Barclays Center on Saturday at 10am. He’s playing there on November 12th.
Jersey Shore Shark Attack Viewing Party
On Saturday, the Paley Center for Media is having a viewing party for the Jersey Shore Shark Attack at 7 p.m. Man-eating sharks, trivia, prizes, refreshments … what more can you possibly want on a Saturday night in June?
Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic
Saturday is the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic at Liberty State Park, NJ. Gentlemen are kindly requested to wear a summer suit and ladies their most daring hat! This popular event attracts a chic, fashionable crowd from around the globe. Rumor has it that Clive Owen will co-host the Polo Classic, benefiting Work to Ride, which provides disadvantaged urban youth with activities centered on horsemanship, equine sports and education.
This weekend, there’s a “Godfather” double-feature free with museum admission at 2 and 6 p.m. at the Museum of the Moving Image in Astoria.
57th Annual Drama Desk Awards
The 57th Annual Drama Desk Awards are happening at The Town Hall on Sunday. The Drama Desk Awards are the only major New York theater honors for which productions on Broadway, Off-Broadway and Off-Off Broadway compete against each other in the same category. That’s at 8pm.
Israel Parade and Run
Sunday is the Israel Parade and Run! Celebrate Israel Run is at Central Park and it starts at 8AM. And the parade starts at 11am at 5th avenue and 57th street!
The Ultimate Science Street Fair
The Ultimate Science Street Fair is on Sunday in Washington Square Park! The popular Science Street Fair returns to Washington Square Park with another action-packed day of interactive exhibits, experiments, games and shows, all designed to entertain and inspire. Visit a telepathy lab and control a computer just by thinking about it, learn the science tricks to shooting perfect free-throws with NBA stars, create your own fragrance at the Smell Lab, ride a square-wheeled tricycle, and much more! That’s from 10am to 6pm.
Caribbean Week Begins On Sunday!

And in Sports, on Saturday the Mets have a home game at Citi Field vs. the Cardinals at 4:10 p.m. And on Sunday, there’s a Hall of Fame Induction event at the Mets home game at Citi Field vs. the Cardinals at 1:10 p.m. with a free Hall of Fame cap for the first 25,000 fans.
