Deb Gordon’s guests were Brooklyn District Attorney, Charles Hynes, and Radio and TV Personality, Mr. G, who have collaborated on a public service announcement to raise awareness about the issue of domestic violence.

DA Hynes started the Family Justice Center in Brooklyn which provides a myriad of support services to encourage domestic violence victims to seek the help they need. Mr. Hynes shared his heartfelt story about the abuse his mother suffered at the hands of his father, and the adverse effects it had on him and his siblings.

Mr. Hynes and Mr. G also provided information about the many innovative programs that the Family Justice Center offers to women and children who are suffering through abuse, including the opportunity to meet with a prosecutor, speak with counselors, and apply for housing and financial assistance in just one visit — in their native language.

If you or someone you know is a victim of domestic violence and needs help, call the Safe Horizon hotline at 1-800-621-HOPE, or visit
