Continuing their global takeover, One Direction made their debut this weekend on Saturday Night Live. Clad in blazers, bow ties and suspenders, the U.K. heartthrobs serenaded the audience with chart-topping hit “What Makes You Beautiful” and “One Thing.”

Complete with synchronized dance moves, hair-flipping from Harry Styles and memorable air drumming from Niall Horan, though girls weren’t surrounding the band they no doubt were screaming along to their televisions.

The band briefly showed off their acting chops in the popular “The Manuel Ortiz Show” skit. Portraying the children in a unique family situation, One Direction looked a little too comfortable in their wigs and fake mustaches.

MTV News caught up with One Direction during rehearsal to find out the truth behind the rumored Justin Bieber collaboration. While the group didn’t divulge too many details, a single featuring each artist could only skyrocket each act’s success.

“We actually went down to the studio to listen to some of Justin Bieber’s tracks,” Liam Payne said. “He invited us down and we had a good listen, but there’s no real collaboration or anything.”

All the members of One Direction agreed on Justin Bieber’s upcoming release.

“We were just having a listen to some of his music and hanging out,” Payne said. “[It’s a] really good, really good album.”

Though One Direction is headed to New Zealand and Australia, they’ll be back in America soon enough. With an extended U.S. tour in the works and sold-out performance set for December at Madison Square Garden, this is just the beginning for the U.K act.
