What is it about fathers that makes them so cryptic and wise when they give advice? Our dads have a way of knowing what we need, when we need it, even when we don’t know it yet.

Over the weekend, I had the opportunity to be this wise, advice-giver when my son came to me with his troubles.

Some say the key to being a good father is patience, understanding, empathy, and even mercy. But really, 90% of  being a dad is really just being there.
