And Madonna Was All Like: “What’s a Lady Gaga, Anyway?”

OK, not quite. Madonna certainly knows what a Lady Gaga is…

They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. But Madonna doesn’t seem too flattered.

The comparisons between the Material Girl and Lady Gaga have been profound and constant throughout Gaga’s career, and for the most part Gaga seems a-okay with it. Our meat-dress loving friend even told Jay Leno, “There is really no one that is a more adoring and loving Madonna fan than me. I am the hugest fan personally and professionally.”

So, what does Madonna think of all this?

Pas beaucoup, apparently…

In a recent interview with Belgian magazine LeSoir, Madonna answered questions about her most ardent admirer. Here’s one: “As for Lady Gaga, I have no comment on her obsessions related to me, because I do not know if it is based on something profound or superficial.”

Ouch… I think.

If imitation is the most sincere form of flattery, then apathy is the sincerest form of disdain. Gaga, girl – you’ve been dissed.

According to AceShowBiz, Madonna’s publicist, Liz Rosenberg, quickly straightened out the apparent diss, saying “I do know that [Madonna] has said many supportive things about Gaga over the years.”
