According to The Hollywood Reporter, police in Britain investigated the scene of Winehouse’s death and deemed her passing “non-suspicious.”
But orders taken out by investigators in London heavily imply that the singer suffered a “violent or unnatural death” this past Saturday in her hotel room.
What this suggests is that Amy died due to failure of one of her vital bodily functions like breathing or heartbeat. And a death of that nature is often brought about by drugs or alcohol ingested at the time, which unfortunately would not be a surprise considering Winehouse’s troubled lifestyle.
With the investigation ongoing in Britain, it’s likely that we will find out the specific cause of death in the coming months.
