When was the last time you went to an actual store to buy an album? Okay, stupid question. When was the last time you bought a WHOLE album digitally? I don’t remember the last time I purchased an entire album, and why should I? Instead of buying the whole thing, you only have to spend up to $1.29 on the songs that you really want to listen to. Well, that’s what I thought until Katy Perry’s Teenage Dream and Adele’s 21 came out.

These two powerhouse chicks know how to put together an album with no disappointing tracks! Maybe that’s why album sales are up? Yeah, that’s DEFINITELY why!

According to the Nielsen Soundscan’s data for their mid-year report, album sales are up ONE whole percent from 2010’s mid-year sales. There hasn’t been a mid-year gain since 2004 though, and I know it may not feel like it, but that’s seven years ago!
