Summer is here!  School is out!  And the public pools are now open for the summer season!  There’s also a ton of other cool stuff to do around the city today so make sure you check them out on our list of What’s Fresh Around Town!

1. Public Pools Are OPEN!

NYC public pools open for the season. Outdoor pool hours are from 11:00 a.m. through 7:00 p.m., with a break for pool cleaning between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.

2. Jim Gaffigan and John Pinette in Central Park!

There’s also a free Comedy Central Park show at 8 p.m. tonight at the Central Park Summerstage. Look for comedians Jim Gaffigan and John Pinette tonight!

3. Free Movies!

“Despicable Me” screens for free at 7 p.m. at Capt Tilly Park in Queens. “Annie Hall” screens for free (with suggested donation) at the Museum of Jewish Heritage at 6:30 p.m. as part of the Woody Allen A to Z series.

4. Vanessa Carlton @ Joe’s Pub!

Fresh artist Vanessa Carlton is at Joe’s Pub at 7:30 p.m.

5. Sports!

Also in Sports, the Yankees are playing the Brewers at 7:05 p.m.  Staten Island Yankees home game vs. Aberdeen Ironbirds at 7 p.m.
