The [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Black Eyed Peas[/lastfm] have been tapped to provide the halftime show at Super Bowl 45 at Cowboys Stadium in Dallas.

The group, which played the NFL’s kickoff special in Pittsburgh last year, will be the most contemporary act to play the Super Bowl since the infamous Janet Jackson “nipplegate” show in Houston in 2004. Since then, the NFL has played it safe with much older performers such as Paul McCartney, The Rolling Stones and The Who.

Super Bowl 45 will be played on February 6th.

  1. Tony Colinares says:

I love the Classic Groups, however to me The Black Eyed Peas are a “breath of fresh air” that highlights todays music talents.
They have Style, Energy, & Soul!! A Filipino, Mexican, a Black Man and a White Woman. The only malfunction won’t be the warddrobe but it’ll be the time allowed on a half time show, which the network will try to fill with Commercials on top of Commercials!
